Blase Breaks Mile Record Against Top Competition at PSU National
      University Park, Pa. -- The bright lights brought out the best in senior distance runner Lauren Blase as she broke the school’s mile record that has stood for nearly six years on Saturday at the Penn State National Invitational. Aaron Merrill Sweeps Throws Events at Tom Wright Classic
 

    Bowling Green, Ohio -- Youngstown State senior thrower Aaron Merrill had a dominating performance in the throws events on Saturday at the Tom Wright Classic as he captured first-place finishes in the weight throw and shot put 
    Merrill was victorious in the weight throw with a toss of 16.63m and won the shot put with a heave of 17.22m. Release | Results
Seniors Lead the Way at Jane Hermann Invitational
      Bowling Green, Ohio -- Youngstown State seniors Lauren Blase and Robyn Ray put on strong displays for the Penguins as Blase captured first-place finishes in the mile and 3,000m, while Ray finished first in the triple jump and second in the high jump on Friday evening at the Jane Hermann Invitational.
    Blase's personal-best, first-place time of 5:02.97 in the mile ranks second all-time in school-history. Release

Merrill and Tisia Combine for Four First-Place Finishes at Robert Morris
 

    Moon Township, Pa. -- The Youngstown State men’s track and field team captured five first place finishes on Friday highlighted by two apiece from senior thrower Aaron Merrill and sophomore distance runner Kiplingat Tisia at the Robert Morris Invitational.
    Merrill swept the throwing events as he was victorious in the weight throw with a distance of 16.25m and in the shot put with a mark of 16.52m. Release | Results
