Davis Breaks Hammer Record at Akron Open
Akron, Ohio -- Jarrod Davis set the
school record in the hammer with a
sixth-place throw of 161 feet, 11
inches at the Akron Open Saturday.
Davis added a seventh-place finish in the discus with a
season-best throw of 147-8.
Also on the men's side, Derek Riker won the pole vault with a
mark of 15-0 while Scott Weiser
finished third in the 400-meter dash
with a time of 50.20. Chris
Hine finished fifth in the
3,000-meters in 9:03.66 and Adam
Lewis finished fifth in the
400-meter hurdles with a time of
57.70. Dustin Reimond added a
fourth-place finish in the pole
vault while Dave Mealy placed
seventh in the 3,000 and Kevin
Breckenridge placed eighth in the
400 hurdles.
In the throws, Joe White finished third in the javelin with a
throw of 159-6 while Drew Weizer
finished sixth.
Nikki Hooper headed the women with a second-place finishes in
the long jump (16-9 1/4) and the
triple jump (35-6) and a fifth-place
finish in the 100-meter dash
(12.96). Lindsay Wojciak
placed second in the 1,500-meter run
with a time of 4:54.79 and seventh
in the 3,000 while Kim Jendre placed
third in the 3,000 and fifth in the
1,500. Cassandra Smith added a
fifth-place finish in the 400
hurdles.
Laura Schatz finished fourth in the high jump (5-2 1/4) and
fifth in the javelin (102-3) while
Amy Hill placed fourth in the
javelin (104-9), sixth in the discus
(128-9) and ninth in the hammer
(139-9). Larissa Papach added
a fifth-place finish in the high
jump (5-0 1/4) while Laruen Girlder
placed eighth in the hammer (139-11)
and Kim Lammers finished ninth in
the shot put (38-6 1/4). |
