Schnitkey Named Horizon League Athlete of the Week
Indianapolis, Ind. -- Youngstown
State sophomore Emily Schnitkey was
named the Horizon League Athlete of
the Week for the period ending April
11, League Assistant Director of
Communications Taylor Payne
announced.
Schnitkey set the school record in the 3,000-mter
steeplechase with an eighth-place
time of 10:57.88 at the University
of Tennessee's Sea Ray Relays on
April 10. Her time was just .7
seconds shy of the NCAA Regional
qualifying mark of 10:57.18.
Her time is also the fastest run in the Horizon League this
season in the event and is nearly
eight seconds faster than the
second-place time. |
