Top-Six Finishes
in Hammer at Sea Ray Relays

Youngstown --
Youngstown State's Bethany Anderson
hit the NCAA Regional qualifying
mark of the second straight week in
the hammer to finish third and
teammate Amy Hill finished sixth at
the Sea Ray Relays.
Anderson posted a mark of 178 feet, 2 inches to miss her
school record by four inches. Hill,
who ranks second in school history,
threw a personal-best distance of
160'4" to finish sixth.
Nick Kruse added a personal-best time of 3:57.20 in the
1,500-meters to finish 19th, and
Aaliyah Gillespie placed 18th-place
in the 100-meter hurdles.
At the Northeast Ohio Quad Meet held at Akron, poor weather
conditions forced half of the events
indoors. Running events under
800-meters, relays and jumps were
all held inside the Athletics
Fieldhouse while throws and distance
events were held at the Lee R.
Jackson Track.
Kari Kreutzfeld paced the sprints by finishing second in the
400m (57.13) and fifth in the 200m
(25.62) while Robyn Ray placed fifth
in the high jump (5'1"). Lindsey
Hill finished second in the javelin
(110') and fourth in the shot put
(41'9.75") while Jacquiline Clonch
fifth in the shot (38'3.50") and
Lindsay Cobey was fifth in the
hammer (149'2").
Scott Streiner led the men's sprints with a third-place
finish in the 200m (22.03) and a
fifth-place showing in the 100m
(11.15). In the distance events Dan
Nemergut placed second (10:18.0) in
the steeplechase while Justin
Dickman placed fourth in the 3,000m
(9:14.70).
Shayne York paced the jumps with a third-place finish in the
triple jump (45'3.75") and
fourth-place effort in the long jump
(22'5"). Mike Perri added a
fifth-place height in the high jump
(6'2"), and Kyle Muir was fifth in
the javelin (132'10").
The Penguins will compete at the All-Ohio Championships this
weekend in Cincinnati. |
