Anderson Named CoSIDA Second-Team Academic All-District
Youngstown -- Youngstown State senior track and
field standout Bethany Anderson was named Second-Team Academic All-District by
the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization
announced.
Anderson, a thrower from Jamestown, N.Y., became the first
Penguin track and field student-athlete to earn academic all-district honors
since Jarrod Davis in 2006. Davis earned first-team accolades and went on to be
named First-Team Academic All-America.
Anderson finished her career as a 12-time Horizon League
champion and the only female athlete in league history to win two events three
times each. She also played a big part in leading YSU to five team championships
during her tenure.
In the classroom, Anderson has been an Academic All-Horizon
League selection five times. She holds a 3.46 grade-point average in physical
education. |
