Joe Lahmon Named Horizon League Athlete of the Week
Indianapolis -- Youngstown State junior Joe Lahmon
has been named the Horizon League Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week for
his performance last weekend at the Sea Ray Relays.
Lahmon joins Aaron Merrill as YSU's second Athlete of the
Week honoree in as many weeks.
Lahmon automatically qualified for the NCAA Mideast Regional
in the hammer last week with a mark of 193-4 to finish second at the Relays. His
distance also broke former Horizon League champion Jarrod Davis' previous school
record.
Lahmon also joined Merrill as YSU's second thrower to qualify
for the NCAA Regionals. Bethany Anderson has also qualified in the women's
hammer.
This is Lahmon's first weekly recognition from the Horizon
League.
Lahmon and the Penguins will compete at the Sparky Adams
Invitational this weekend. |
