Finishes 20th in Hammer at USATF Junior Outdoor
Championships
Eugene, Ore. -- Youngstown State freshman thrower
Kaitlyn Griffith claimed 20th in the hammer throw at the USA Junior Outdoor
Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field located on the campus of the
University of Oregon.
Griffith threw
the hammer a distance of 45.89m
(150-7). The top finisher in the
event heaved a distance of 57.22m
(187-9).
She qualified
for the Junior meet with a
season-best throw of 49.13 meters to
eclipse the qualifying mark of 48
meters at Campbell-Wright Open on
May 8 in Akron.
Griffith joins past Penguin qualifiers for the junior
national meet in Aaron Merrill,
Breanne Romeo, Katie Betts, Emily
Schnitkey and Keith Gorby. |
