1995 Visit to the White House

On March 6, 1995, the Youngstown State football team had the privilege of traveling to the White House and meeting with President Bill Clinton. The Penguins left Youngstown via five motorcoach charters early on March 6 and met with the President early in the afternoon. Following the meeting with the President, the group was given a tour of the White House and had a reception with YSU Congressman Jim Traficant on Capitol Hill.
The visit by the Penguins was the first invitation ever extended to a college or professional team in any sport in the state of Ohio. It was also the first appearance by the Division I-AA champion to the White House.
