Hubbard's Carlisle, Hundelt Sign NLIs to Play Volleyball at YSU

Youngstown -- Hubbard High senior Jackie Carlisle and Missy Hundelt (St. Louis, Mo.) have signed a National Letter of Intent to continue their academic and volleyball careers at Youngstown State University.

Both Carlisle and Hundelt were named first-team all-state twice in their high school volleyball careers. Carlisle is a 6-foot outside hitter who named First-Team All-Ohio at the Division II level as a junior and senior. Hundelt is a 6-foot-1 outside hitter who was named First-Team All-Missouri at the Class 2 level as both a sophomore and a senior.

Carlisle had a banner senior year, leading Hubbard to an undefeated regular season. She had 27 kills in Hubbard's four-set win over No. 2-ranked Salem, and she had 30 kills against Salem later in the year in the district title game. Carlisle, who finished her career with 1,092 kills, was also named honorable mention all-state as a sophomore.

Hundelt led the St. Louis area with 5.42 kills per set, and she added 5.18 digs per set as a senior at Orchard Farm High School. As a sophomore, registered 453 kills, which ranks as the 14th-most for a single season according to the Missouri State High School Activities Association record book. She had 29 kills on a state-record .778 attack percentage in a match that season. Her .521 attack percentage as a sophomore also ranks as the second-best percentage in state history. A back injury her junior year kept her from racking up accolades.
