Schnitkey Paces Women to Best Finish in School History at Great Lakes
Ypsilanti, Mich.-- Every member of
Youngstown State's women's cross
country squad recorded a
personal-best time as the team
posted its best finish in program
history at the NCAA Great Lakes
Regional on Saturday afternoon.
Junior Emily Schnitkey led the 17th-place charge, covering
the 6K course with a 74th-place time
of 21:49.6. Junior Dave Mealy ran
the second-fastest 10K time in
school history with a time of
32:25.5 to lead the men's squad to a
19th-place finish.
Marielle Glanz ran the third-fastest time in school history
with a 107th-place time of 22:34.2
while Kim Jendre ran the
fourth-fastest time in history with
a 115th-place time of 22:41.0.
Senior Lindsay Wojciak placed 130th
with a time of 22:51.9, the
sixth-fastest in school history, and
Gina Mavrikis ran the eighth-fastest
time in school history with a
136th-place time of 23:09.4.
Behind Mealy's 88th-place finish, Matt Paullin placed 91st
with a time of 32:32.4 while Jeremy
Riehm finished 120th in 33:17.4.
John Sheppard placed 144th in
34:04.1 while Nick Smith rounded out
the scoring five with a time of
34:18.7.
Wisconsin won the 29-team men's squad while Michigan won the
30-team women's contest. |
