Schnitkey Earns First-Team All-League Honors at HL Championship
    Kenosha, Wis. -- Youngstown State junior Emily Schnitkey placed sixth with a 5K time of 18:44 at the Horizon League Championship to earn first-team all-conference honors on Saturday morning on the campus of UW-Parkside.
    Schnitkey paced the women to a fourth-place finish while the men also placed fourth behind senior Jeremy Riehm's 16th-place time of 26:34.
    Senior Chris Hine placed one spot behind Riehm in 17th with a time of 26:35 while junior Dave Mealy placed 21st in 26:44. Senior Matt Paullin finished 39th with a time of 27:03 and junior Nick Smith rounded out the scoring five with a 56th-place time of 28:12.
    Behind Schnitkey, sophomore Kim Jendre finished 16th with a time of 19:42 while senior Lindsay Wojciak finished 20th in 19:47. Marielle Glanz placed 28th in 20:08 and Gina Mavrkis placed 45th in 21:06.
    Butler claimed both titles, having the top six finishers in the men's race and eight of the top 11 in the women's race. Loyola and host UW-Milwaukee grabbed the second and third spots in both races.
    The Penguins will compete in the Great Lakes Regional in Ypsilanti, Mich. on Nov. 13.
