Schnitkey Places Second at Notre Dame Invite
    South Bend, Ind. -- Junior Emily Schnitkey ran a personal-best time of 18 minutes, 5 seconds to place second and lead the Youngstown State women's cross country team to a ninth-place finish at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday afternoon.
    Jeremy Riehm paced the men's team to a 16th-place finish in the 26-team field with a personal-best 8K time of 25:35.
    Lindsay Wojciak was just one second behind her personal-best time with a 28th-place time of 18:57 while Kim Jendre placed 38th with a personal-best time of 19:07.  Marielle Glanz finished 91st with a time of 19:45 and Gina Mavrikis rounded out the top five with a 98th-place, personal best time of 19:49.
    Matt Paullin placed 58th in 25:55 while Dave Mealy placed 82nd in a personal-best 26:15.  Chris Hine finished 109th with a personal-best 26:46 while John Sheppard placed 120th in a personal best 26:57.
    Schnitkey's time was the fourth-fastest recorded in school history in the 5K while Riehm's time was the eighth fastest.
    The Penguins will continue their season on Oct. 8 at the All-Ohio Championship.
