Marilyn O'Bruba is the Youngstown State Athletic Department's Senior Academics Advisor. O'Bruba and her staff help with tutoring, scheduling and advising student-athletes. She directly supervises football, men's basketball, and softball student-athletes.

O'Bruba, a YSU graduate, has been with the Athletic Academic Advising area since 1988. Throughout her career, she has received continuous gratitude from many student-athletes for helping them earn their degrees.

Under O'Bruba, YSU has had 17 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans during her tenure, including five first-team selections: Brandi Brown (Women's Basketball in 2013), Jarrod Davis (Track and Field in 2006), Scott Theissen (Football in 2003), Anthony Pannunzio (Football in 1998) and John Quintana (Football in 1993).

Quarterback Mark Brungard earned an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship for his academic and on-field success in 1996. YSU student-athletes Nick DeKraker and Liz Hornberger have recently been award prestigious post-graduate scholarships as well.

Her office is located in the Jermaine Hopkins Academic Center. She is the daughter of former YSU women's basketball coach Ed DiGregorio.
