Andrew Wingard serves as an Assistant Director of Athletics for Sales & Development.
He began his tenure as the Manager of Athletic Ticket Sales at Youngstown State in April 2018 before moving into his current role in December.
As a Penguin, Wingard is charged with creating new strategies for ticket sale expansion and Penguin Club membership enhancement. His emphasis will be on increasing ticket revenue and event attendance through the retention of current customers and building relationships with prospective buyers of season, group and individual ticket sales. Wingard will also work to increase Penguin Club memberships and generate revenue through Penguin Club fundraising activities. He will assist the marketing area in developing strategies and procedures to improve revenues through advertising and auxiliary sales.
Wingard comes to Youngstown State after spending almost two years at Tulane University in a similar capacity. He was served as an account manager for the Green Wave from October 2016 through January 2018, and he was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletic Ticket Sales. Wingard focused on increasing revenue from season tickets, single-game tickets and group tickets while also generating donations for the Green Wave Club. He was also the external team leader for Tulane Women’s Basketball.
Before going to Tulane, Wingard spent a year as the Coordinator of Ticket Sales at Texas Tech University. He also has sales and revenue experience in various capacities at Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky and the Bowling Green Bandits. Outside of sales, Wingard was a Fan Experience Assistant at WKU, and he completed an internship at Walt Disney World.
Wingard is a native of Saginaw, Mich., and he played basketball at Delta College. He graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a Bachelor’s in General Business in 2013, and he went on to earn a Master’s in Sports Administration: Intercollegiate Athletic Administration in 2016 from Western Kentucky.
