Due to weather-related cancelations over the past few weeks, the Youngstown State baseball team has added two exciting games to its schedule.

The Penguins will play at Ohio State on Tuesday, April 2, at 6:35 p.m. at Bill Davis Stadium. It will be their first contest against the Buckeyes since 2002. YSU and Ohio State had a scheduled game rained out in 2012.

YSU will also host its second school day game in conjunction with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers and Akron Children's Hospital Mahoning Valley on Tuesday, May 14, against Canisius. Gates will open 9:30 a.m., and first pitch against the Golden Griffins at Eastwood Field will be at 11 a.m. The Scrappers are taking reservations and are encouraging groups to sign up early to guarantee seating for both the game on May 14 and the day game on May 3 against Wright State. The reservation form is available at

Youngstown State is also scheduled to open its home slate on Wednesday against Akron. There are 17 home games on the home schedule with 12 Horizon League contests, regional games against the Zips and Kent State (a 2012 College World Series participant) as well as contests against BCS conference foes Pittsburgh and West Virginia.

Season tickets for all 17 games are available for $50. Season tickets are available for purchase at the YSU Athletic Ticket Office in Stambuagh Stadium or at the gate at Eastwood Field on YSU game days. Phone orders will be taken at (330) 941-1978.
