Tickets to Major League Baseball games, autographed baseballs and custom YSU fine hardwood items from Baird Brothers are just a few of the auction items that will be featured at the Youngstown State Baseball Program's First Pitch Breakfast on Jan. 26.

Pittsburgh Pirates manager Clint Hurdle and Major League umpire Wally Bell will be the featured speakers at the event, which will be held at McMenamy's Restaurant and Banquet Center in Niles, Ohio.

Individual tickets are $15 apiece and will serve as both a raffle ticket and an entry ticket for the breakfast buffet. Corporate and family packages, which include eight breakfast tickets as well as one ticket to an exclusive dinner with Hurdle, Bell and the YSU Coaching Staff the evening prior to the breakfast at Michael Alberini's Restaurant and Wine Shop in Boardman, are also available for $500.

Ticket reservations need to be made by this coming Friday, Jan. 18, by contacting YSU associate head coach Kevin Smallcomb at (970) 978-0504 or kdsmallcomb@ysu.edu.

The auction item list is subject to change, but it tentatively includes:

  • Two tickets to a Pittsburgh Pirates game with the attractive SkyBlast promotion.
  • Four personal box seat tickets and four passes to be on the field for batting practice for a Cleveland Indians game (excluding Opening Day and games against the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox).
  • Autographed baseballs from Major League Baseball Hall of Famers George Brett, Bill Mazeroski and Al Kaline, current players Johnny Damon, Todd Helton, Cliff Lee, Alfonso Soriano and Troy Tulowitzki, and Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland.
  • Major League Baseball memorabilia.
  • YSU custom bats, clocks and other fine hardwood items from Baird Brothers.
