This weekend's baseball series between Youngstown State and Oakland has been canceled due to snow in the forecast. The games will not be rescheduled.

The teams were originally scheduled to begin the series at Oakland on Friday at 3 p.m., but Oakland's field is unplayable. The series was then moved to Eastwood Field and shortened to a doubleheader on Sunday, but the Youngstown area is projected to receive several inches of snow overnight and have unfavorable weather the rest of the weekend.

Youngstown State has now had each of its last four Horizon League contests canceled due to weather. The Penguins did not have any weather cancelations in the first six weeks of the season.

Youngstown State will be back in action at Kent State on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Penguins will try to resume Horizon League play next weekend in a three-game series at Eastwood Field against Northern Kentucky that's scheduled to begin on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
