Due to lingering water from a heavy rainfall in Rochester, Mich., the Youngstown State baseball team's series at Oakland has been changed again.
The Penguins and Golden Grizzlies will now play a single game on Saturday beginning at 3:30 p.m., and the teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. The series was originally supposed to be spread out over Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and a change was made on Thursday to try for a doubleheader on Saturday.
This weekend will mark YSU's eighth Horizon League series of the season and weather has now forced changes to seven of them. The Penguins were forced to make changes to their first six conferences series; last weekend's home slate with Wright State was the first that was played as originally scheduled.
This is also the second time that a series between YSU and Oakland has been affected by weather this season. The Penguins were originally supposed to host the Golden Grizzlies this weekend, but the teams were forced to flip their home-and-home set at the start of April due to bad weather. In addition, the finale of that series back in April was ultimately canceled due to inclement weather in the Youngstown area.
Weather-related schedule updates for the Youngstown State baseball team this week and throughout the season will be posted on YSUsports.com and @YSUBaseball on Twitter.
