YSU Baseball Program Announces Auction Items for First Pitch Breakfast

The Youngstown State baseball program has announced a number of enticing items and experiences that will be included in both live and silent auctions at its upcoming 2019 First Pitch Breakfast on Feb. 9.

The event will take place at The Embassy in Boardman with three-time World Series champion and National Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Rollie Fingers serving as the featured speaker.

One of the primary experiences that will be auctioned off is a one-week stay in Playa Potrero, Costa Rica, between April 15 and Dec. 10 depending on availability. The package will include up to eight people for a one-week stay in a five-bedroom house with breathtaking sunset views of the Pacific Ocean and coastline. The package is estimated at $2,500; flights and transportation are not included.

Premier accommodations for one room and three nights at the world-renowned Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs, Colorado, will also be available. This package includes one complimentary round of golf for two, and one 50-minute spa service for two. This package is valued at $3,400; flights and transportation are not included.

The program will also be auctioning off an autographed Francisco Lindor 2018 All-Star Game jersey and an autographed 1976 Rollie Fingers Cooperstown Classic Oakland A's Jersey.

  • Lorenzo Cain autographed game-used helmet
  • Eric Hosmer autographed game-used helmet
  • Three YSU baseball team signed bats
  • Two YSU fire pits
  • One round of golf for four with YSU baseball coaching staff at Youngstown Country Club
  • Various YSU apparel pieces
  • 2019 YSU mini helmets signed by President Jim Tressel
  • Lunch for five at Cassese's MVR with President Tressel and the YSU baseball coaching staff

Tickets are currently on sale at the Beeghly Center merchandise booth during YSU men's and women's basketball games.
