Scheduling changes have been made to the Youngstown State baseball team's upcoming Horizon League series against Northern Kentucky at Eastwood Field.

Due to the threat of inclement weather later in the week, the Penguins and Norse will now begin the series with a doubleheader tomorrow (April 18) beginning at 1 p.m. ET. The series finale is tentatively scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. ET on Friday.

The two teams were originally scheduled to play single games on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Penguins have now had changes made to eight of 10 weekend series this season.

  • Thursday's doubleheader will feature $2 beer and $2 tickets for fans, and a YSU Student T-shirt Giveaway.
  • Friday's game will include $1 hot dogs and $1 pop, and another special Quaker Steak "Strikeout Inning" promotion. If a YSU pitcher strikes out an opposing batter during a specific inning, all fans will receive a coupon for a buy-one, get-one-free appetizer of equal or lesser value at Quaker Steak and Lube.
  • The team's "Lace-Up for Cancer" Game, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, has been moved to the May 5 contest against Wright State due to the schedule changes.
