St. Louis, Mo. -- Youngstown State junior punter Nick Liste was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced on Sunday.
Liste had a solid all-around afternoon as punter and kickoff specialist.
On a windy Macomb day, he averaged 43.0 per punt on three kicks. Included in that total was a 67-yard punt with the win that changed field position in the game. With the contest tied at 7 in the second quarter, his 67-yard kick was downed at the WIU two-yard line. The change in field position resulted in YSU taking a 14-7 lead at halftime.
On kickoffs, he had three touchbacks while his other three kicks were returned for a combined two yards and that was fumbled and recovered by the Penguins.
UNI running back David Johnson was named the Offensive Player of the Week, NDSU linebacker Grant Olson was named the Defensive Player of the week and NDSU punter Ben LeCompte was named the Newcomer of the Week.
The Penguins (6-4 overall and 3-4 in the MVFC) play their final home game of the season on Saturday against Indiana State. Kickoff at Stambaugh Stadium is set for 2:05 p.m.
