Preparations Underway for 40th Annual Red-White Spring Game

The Youngstown State football team turned up preparations for the 40th Annual Red-White Spring Game with the formation of teams on Wednesday. Kickoff for the contest on Friday night is set for 7:35 and will be broadcast on 570 WKBN.

The Penguins selected who would be on the Red team and White team on Wednesday morning. The squads were released during the Bob Dove Red-White Spring Game Luncheon that was held at the DeBartolo Stadium Club during the afternoon. At the event, coordinators Joe Tresey and Shane Montgomery along with Head Coach Eric Wolford spoke to the crowd and media in attendance about the spring.

In the afternoon, the Penguins held a practice in the WATTS. It was the third time this spring that YSU went indoors to hold a workout. YSU practiced in helmets polishing things up for Friday evening.

After working on individual drills and special teams, the Red squad and White squad broke into their respective units and spent time preparing for Friday night's tilt. The Red squad features the No. 1 offense and No. 2 defense while the White squad is the No. 1 defense and No. 2 offense.

Tickets and tailgate passes are still available for the game by contacting the YSU Athletics Ticket Office at (330) 941-1978. Season tickets are available as well.

Tailgate lots for the game open at 5 p.m.
