The Youngstown State football team has held 17 practices following a Friday morning workout at Stambaugh Stadium. The Penguins will hold their final major practice of the fall on Saturday, just two weeks shy of the August 30 season opener at Illinois.

Some uncharacteristic fall weather has greeted the Penguins this week. Instead of feeling like summer, the temperatures have been more fall like. On Friday, after spending most of the week in full pads, the Guins practiced in just helmets on Friday morning.

The Penguins will hold their second and last major scrimmage of the fall on Saturday morning. The Guins are off on Sunday and will have practices on Monday and Tuesday before their normal school practice schedule starts on Wednesday.

Penguin Club memberships and season-ticket packages are still available to support the team. For information on Penguin Club memberships contact Tom Morella at tmorella@ysu.edu and for details on season-ticket packages call the Athletic Ticket Office at (330) 941-1978.
