Coming off a gritty 14-7 win at Missouri State, the Youngstown State football team plays its first home Missouri Valley Football Conference contest of the season against Western Illinois. Kickoff for the tilt between the Penguins and Leathernecks is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Tailgating lots (M-24 and M-7) will open at 1 p.m. Beer will be on sale in both lots at that time and fans will be allowed in to start their tailgating festivities. Parking in the M-26, M-27 and decks will be available at that time for $5. A limited number of M-7 Parking permits will be available at the booth upon entering the lot.

The first event of the day is the YSU volleyball match against preseason-league favorite Milwaukee. Admission for the match at the Beeghly Center is free and it is one of two football-volleyball doubleheaders for the season.

At 4 p.m., the action picks up in the Rulli Bros M-7 Tailgate lot. Lead Belly Boys Tailgate Band is set to play from four o'clock until the lot closes at 7 p.m. Also, the final State Farm Kids Day will begin in the lot at 4 p.m. The YSU Football Alumni Group will be holding its annual Tailgate Blast in the lot. At halftime of the game, members from the 1979 National Championship team will be recognized.

The YSU football team will make its tailgate walk at approximately 4:35 p.m. through the M-24 Lot. Fans are encouraged to lineup and greet the team as it heads towards the stadium. Members of the YSU Marching Pride will join the walk across Fifth Avenue, through the M-24 Lot, and then back over to Stambaugh Stadium.

On the hill just south of the Stadium, the YSU Marching Pride and Poland High School Band will hold their pregame "Icebreakers" concert.

Members of the YSU baseball program will be selling merchandise near the M-24 Lot and then at the game on the West Stands Concourse. The program will be accepting credit cards for purchases. The women's golf team will be selling YSU "Y" Powerband wristbands and magnets as well.

All fans attending the game will receive a Dry Erase Board courtesy of 21 WFMJ, Valley Care and Rulli Brothers. Be sure to check out the annual Car Coach Display outside the west stands featuring automobiles from Acura of Boardman/Boardman Mitsubishi, Boardman Subaru, Bob & Chuck Eddy Chrysler Dodge Jeep, The Haus Auto Group, Greenwood Chevrolet, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, U-Save Auto Rental and Toyota Volvo Jaguar of Warren.

During the game members of the softball team will be selling 50/50 Raffle Tickets.

As always, YSU students are admitted free with a valid student ID with sweet seating on the East Side stands. Tickets on gameday are $19 for reserved seats and $15 for general admission. The YSU Athletic Ticket Office is open until 6 p.m. on Friday.
