The Youngstown State football program will hold its annual Red-White Spring Game on Friday at Stambaugh Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
Admission for the contest is $5. Parking for the game is available in the M-24 lot across from Stambaugh Stadium and at various lots on the YSU campus, including the newly-named Fifth Avenue Parking Deck. Seating for the contest is on the west side of the stadium only.
The Penguins started spring drills on March 14 and had two different sessions in the past two months. YSU held seven practices before taking a week break. The Guins have had seven more workouts leading up to tomorrow evening's 44th Annual Spring Game event.
Prior to the contest the YSU Football Alumni Group will have their spaghetti dinner in the DeBartolo Stadium Club. The Penguin Pack, YSU's student-fan organization, will have a social also in the Stadium Club. In the main gym's of the stadium, the Penguin Club, in conjunction with Firebirds Restuarant, are hosting a pregame party for both members and non-members.
The format for the game will feature the offense against the defense in scrimmage-type situations. The No. 1 offense will go against the No. 1 defense while the second unit's will square off with one another.
Friday night's game will be carried on 570 WKBN. Bob Hannon and Chris Sammarone call the action with Mike Orto handling the engineering duties.
Tickets for the game are available by contacting the YSU Athletic Ticket Office at (330) 941-1978. The Ticket Office opens at 9 a.m. on Friday and the gates for the contest open at 6:30 p.m.
