Four Penguins Named to The STATS FCS Preseason All-American Team

The Youngstown State football team had four players named to the STATS FCS Preseason All-American Team which was released on Tuesday. TB Tevin McCaster was a second-team pick while LB Armand Dellovade, OG Gavin Wiggins and LS Steven Wethli were named to the third team.

McCaster was a first-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference selection last year while Dellovade and Wiggins earned second-team honors. In 2017, Wethli was an honorable-mention selection.

The Missouri Valley Football Conference led the way with 16 overall selections on the three STATS FCA preseason All-America teams.

All four players have been productive throughout their YSU careers. In 2017, McCaster rushed for 1,066 yards on 221 carries and scored 13 touchdowns. Dellovade was second on the team with 76 total tackles. Wiggins has started the last 31 games at offensive guard. Wethli has started all three years as long snapper for the Guins.
