Former Penguin Vitas Hrynkiewicz Signs With Los Angeles Rams

Former Youngstown State center Vitas Hrynkiewicz has signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Los Angeles Rams, the organization announced on Monday.

Hrynkiewicz was a three-year starter for the Penguins and earned second-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors as a senior in 2018 and junior in 2017.

In his career, he started all 38 games for the Guins. As a sophomore, he stepped in to start all 16 games and was a key part of the offensive line that helped pave the way for the Penguins to reach the FCS National Championship Game. During his junior and senior campaigns, he started 11 games each year for the Guins. YSU's Tevin McCaster was a first-team All-MVFC running back in 2017 and 2018. 

Additional honors for Hrynkiewicz during his career include NFF Hampshire Honor Society, NEO NFF Scholarship receipient, 2016 MVFC All-Newcomer Team, 2018 Honorable Mention All-MVFC Academic Team and 2017 Second Team All-MVFC Academic Team. He earned his bachelor's degree from YSU in December 2018.

Additionally, former Penguin offensive lineman Gavin Wiggins has received rookie tryout invites by the Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills.
