Youngstown – Danny Reese, a former men's basketball player at Youngstown State from 2011-13, has been added to the men's basketball staff as an administrative assistant, YSU Head Coach Jerry Slocum announced.
Reese's administrative duties with the Penguins include, but are not limited to, assisting in academic support, community outreach, camps, and basketball operations.
Reese was a member of the Penguins first postseason tournament team in 2012-13 when YSU advanced to the second round of the College Invitational Tournament (CIT). During his two seasons with YSU, the Penguins produced a two-year record of 34-31.
"It's great having Danny back with our program," Slocum said. "As a former player, he brings great energy, passion and love for Youngstown State and the Youngstown community. He's an outstanding addition and I'm proud to have him as part of our staff.
Reese graduated from The College of Wooster, where he played baseball for two seasons, in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in history. He went on to earn a master's degree in management in 2016 from the University of Notre Dame.
