The Youngstown State men's basketball team held an energetic practice for nearly two-and-a-half hours at the Beeghly Center on Saturday in the team's first official practice of the 2015-16 season.
Following a review of inbounds plays and a warm up with Athletic Trainer Todd Burkey, the Penguins worked through three fast-paced shooting drills before moving on to defensive schemes and fundamentals.
The Penguins also worked on some fast-break offense and transition drills before scrimmaging for 20 minutes.
Youngstown State is led be senior Bobby Hain who averaged 14.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game last season while shooting 51.4 percent from the floor.
The Penguins open the 2015-16 against Kent State on Saturday, Nov. 14, in Kent, Ohio. The Penguins home opener is set for Wednesday, Nov. 18, against Toledo, at 7 p.m. at the Beeghly Center.
