The Youngstown State men's basketball team held its first official practice of the 2017-18 season on Saturday morning at the Beeghly Center.
The Penguins' practice was a two-and-a-half hour intensity-filled workout from beginning to end.
Installing Calhoun's system of pressing and up-tempo offense was an focal point of the workout.
The Penguins boast a roster of 20 players, including three starters and three returners from last season's team that made the Horizon League Tournament Semifinals.
Youngstown State opens the season against Kent State, Saturday, Nov. 11, at 9 p.m. The game is part of the Northeast Ohio Coaches vs. Cancer Basketball Doubleheader hosted by the University of Akron.
