Darius Quisenberry Named Horizon League Freshman of the Week

Indianapolis, Ind. --  Youngstown State freshman Darius Quisenberry was named the Horizon League Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week, the league announced. Quisenberry led the Penguins to a 2-0 record last week with a pair of road wins at Oakland on Jan. 31 and Detroit Mercy on Feb. 2. He averaged 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. It marks the first weekly award of Quisenberry's career.

In Horizon League play, Quisenberry is averaging 15.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game. He has scored in double figures in nine of 11 games and owns an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.4. He's also scored at least 20 points in four Horizon League games.
 
Overall, Quisenberry is averaging 12.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. The Springfield, Ohio, native ranks eighth in the league in assists per game and is tied for eighth with 1.3 steals per game. 
 
Quisenberry now has 302 points, which are the most by a YSU freshman since joining the Horizon League in 2001-02.
