Indianapolis, Ind. -- For the second straight week, Darius Quisenberry was named the Horizon League's Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Quisenberry helped the Penguins to their second straight 2-0 week with a 72-71 win over Milwaukee and a 96-77 win over Green Bay, marking YSU's first Horizon League four-game win streak since 2012-13.
He averaged 16 points and 5 assists per game last week. Quisenberry tied a career-high 24 points and dished out seven assists against the Phoenix. He also connected on 8-of-13 shooting from the field and made three 3-pointers and all five of his free throws against the Phoenix.
Quisenberrry scored all eight of his points in the second half against Milwaukee, including a three-point play with eight seconds left, and assisted on Garrett Covington's game-winning 3-pointer.
On the year, Quisenberry is averaging 12.8 points per game and ranks seventh in the league with 3.7 assists per game. Against Horizon League foes, Quisenberry is averaging 15.2 points and 4.6 assists per game. He also owns an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.9.
Youngstown State seeks its fifth-straight win when it hosts IUPUI, Thursday, Feb. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Beeghly Center.
