Men's Basketball Suffers 82-54 Loss at Wright State

Dayton, Ohio -- The Youngstown State men's basketball team suffered an 82-54 loss to league-leading Wright State on Saturday afternoon at the Nutter Center.

The Penguins fall to 12-18 overall and 8-9 in the Horizon League with the loss while the Raiders improve to 18-11 overall and 12-4 in the league.

Sophomore Michael Akuchie led the Penguins with 12 points and made a career-high four 3-pointers.

Wright State caught fire early making 10 of its first 15 field-goal attempts and shooting 58.1 percent (18-of-31) from the floor in the first half, including knocking down eight 3-pointers.

The Raiders also forced 17 YSU turnovers that led to 20 Wright State points.

Loudon Love led the Raiders with 26 points while Mark Hughes had 14 and Cole Gentry added 12 points.

The Penguins close out the regular season and celebrate Senior Night for Noe Anabir on Saturday, March 2, at 6 p.m. at the Beeghly Center.
