Hebron, Ky. -- The Youngstown State men's golf team placed 13th out of 15 teams at the UC Bearcat Invitational which concluded on Tuesday. Leading the way was Shayne Wilson who tied for 20th.
The Penguins carded a three-round total of 904 following rounds of 303 and 298 on Monday and another 303 on Tuesday. Austin Peay won the event by one stroke over Kentucky and two over Dayton.
Wilson was one of five players to tie for 20th place with his three-round total of 220. Highlighting his finish was a 69 during the second round on Monday. He had a 77 to open the tournament and finished with a 74 on Tuesday.
Other finishers for the Penguins included Anthony Conn who placed 30th with a 222 (74-73-74), Bryan Yeo who was 58th with a 230 (75-77-78), Michael Lower who finished 64th with a 233 (76-80-77) and Mark Olbrych who was 76th with a 248 (77-79-92).
YSU concludes fall play at the Dayton Invitational next week.
