Bowling Green, Ohio -- The Youngstown State men's golf team continued fall play with a ninth-place team finish at the Bowling Green John Piper Intercollegiate which concluded on Tuesday.
Freshman Brandon Pluchinsky, who was competing as an individual, was the top finisher for the Penguins placing 15th. Pluchinsky had rounds of 75, 73 and 78 to finish with a three-round total of 226.
In the team race, YSU had rounds of 303, 313 and 313 to finish with a score of 929. Cleveland State finished first with an 886 while Oakland was second and Green Bay was third.
Bryan Yeo was 23rd with a three-round score of 229 (71-79-79), Trevor Jones placed 31st with a 230 (75-76-79), Mark Olbrych was 49th with a 235 (77-81-77), Bill Gaffney placed 54th with a 236 (81-77-78) and D.J. Holub was 60th with a 243 (80-81-82).
The Penguins are next in action on Oct. 1-2 when they compete at the Cleveland State Invitational.
