Augusta, Ga. - The Youngstown State men's golf team opened play this spring at the 36-hole Georgia Regents Invitational on Saturday at the Forest Hills Golf Club. YSU had a two-round score of 632 in the event.
YSU opened with a 319 and came back to card a 313 in the second round. GRU Augusta won the event with a two-round 594.
Bryan Yeo led the way with a two-round 151, which featured an impressive second-round score of 69. Yeo had an opening round 82 before improving by 13 shots in his later round.
DJ Holub was 18th with a two-round score of 154 (76-78), Bill Gaffney placed 34th with a 164 (80-84), Brandon Pluchinsky and Trevor Jones tied for 35th with 165's. Pluchinsky had rounds of 81 and 84 while Jones carded rounds of 83 and 82. Mark Olbrych placed 37th with a 166 (82-84).
The Guins return to the links on March 14 when they compete against South Dakota State and Southern Utah in a triangular in Utah.
