Pluchinsky, Penguins Finish Fifth At Horizon League Championships

Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla. - The Youngstown State men's golf team finished fifth at the Horizon League Championships which concluded on Sunday at the Mission Inn Resort.

The Penguins had a final round 311 on Sunday to finish with a three-round total of 924. Cleveland State won the tournament firing a 906 while Oakland was second (916), Wright State third (917) and Valparaiso fourth (920).

Brandon Pluchinsky and Bill Gaffney had top-10 finishes for the Penguins. Pluchinsky finished fifth while Bill Gaffney was ninth. Pluchinsky had a three-round total of 226 following a final round 77 on Sunday. Gaffney had a 229 also firing a 77 for his final round.

Senior Bryan Yeo finished his career with a 16th-place finish with a 234 while D.J. Holub was 21st with a 237 and Steven Sveda was 31st with a 243.
