Howey-In-the-Hills, Fla. - The Youngstown State men's golf team conclude play at the Horizon League Championships with a final round 324. The Penguins finished eighth at the event which was held at the Mission Inn Resort's El Campeon Golf Course.
Winning the championship was Cleveland State with an 887 while Oakland placed second. YSU finished with a three-round total of 952 for the tournament.
Leading the way for the Penguins was Jason McQuown who placed 24th with a three-round total of 233. On Tuesday he carded an 82, highlighted by a birdie on No. 6.
Senior Steven Sveda had his best round of the tournament with a 76. In his final collegiate round, he finished strong with three birdies on his final nine holes. Sveda birdied No. 10, No. 14 and No. 16 and was one-over-par on the back with a 38. His three-round total of 241 tied him for 30th at the event.
Evan Standohar closed out his first appearance at the Horizon League Championships win a final round 82. Standohar had three more birdies on Tuesday coming at No. 7, No. 14 and No. 16. He placed 29th with a three-round total of 239.
