The Youngstown State men's golf team will be competing in The Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational at Pete Dye Golf Club in Morgantown, W. Va. on Monday and Tuesday.
The event will feature 15 other schools including the host team West Virginia, Akron, Bowling Green, Davidson, Eastern Kentucky, James Madison, Loyola-Maryland, Marshall, Ohio, Robert Morris, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Towson, Utah and Winthrop.
The YSU team lineup will include juniors Dominic Carano and Jason McQuown as well as freshmen C.J. Hughes, Ken Keller and Kevin Scherr. Hughes and Scherr are coming off strong performances at the Cleveland State Invitational last week, where they finished 10th and 18th respectively.
McQuown, Hughes, Keller and Scherr have competed in every event so far this fall. After not participating in the first two tournaments of the season, this will be Carano's third straight appearance in the lineup.
The course at Pete Dye Golf Club will play approximately 7,308 yards and par is 72. The Penguins will play 36 holes on Monday and return to play another 18 on Tuesday. Play on Monday will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. while tee times for the final round will start at 8:30 on Tuesday.
