The Youngstown State men's golf team will continue its spring schedule on Sunday at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary at Golden Horseshoe Country Club in Williamsburg, Va.
The Penguins are coming off an 11th-place finish at the Jackrabbit Invitational in their spring season opener on March 8-9. Before that event, YSU had been away from competition for nearly five months after finishing its fall slate in mid-October.
The field in Williamsburg will feature 20 other schools including Binghamton, Campbell, Drake, Eastern Kentucky, Fairleigh Dickinson, Longwood, Loyola University Maryland, Mount St. Mary's, Ohio, Old Dominion, Penn, Radford, St. Bonaventure, St. Francis Brooklyn, St. Francis (Pa.), Saint Joseph's (Pa.), St. Peter's, Temple, VCU and William & Mary.
Hughes, Keller, Kordupel and Scherr have each participated in all seven of the team's events this season while McQuown has competed in six. Ford will be in the lineup for the second consecutive tournament after making his YSU debut at the Jackrabbit Invitational earlier this month. The sophomore transferred from East Tennessee State following the fall semester.
The teams will play 18 holes on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday on the Gold Course at Golden Horseshoe Country Club. Tee times will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET on Sunday and Monday while Tuesday's third and final round will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. This will be YSU's first three-day tournament of the 2018-19 season.
The course will play approximately 6,817 yards and par is 71. Live scoring will be available via Golfstat.com and the Golfstat mobile app.
