The Youngstown State men's golf team will begin the spring portion of its 2018-19 season on Friday with the Jackrabbit Invitational hosted by South Dakota State at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder Creek, Nev.

The Penguins have been away from competitive play for nearly five months since the conclusion of their fall schedule in mid-October.

The tournament will feature 13 other teams including the host South Dakota State, Alabama State, Austin Peay, Detroit Mercy, James Madison, North Dakota State, SIUE, South Dakota, UC Santa Barbara, Southern Utah, Texas State, Weber State and Western Carolina. UNLV will have only individuals competing at the event.

Head Coach Tony Joy has announced that YSU's lineup will include Kevin Scherr, C.J. Hughes, Ken Keller, Jason McQuown and Zack Ford while Bryan Kordupel will compete as an individual.

Hughes, Keller, Kordupel and Scherr each participated in all six of the team's events in the fall while McQuown competed in five. Ford will be making his YSU debut after transferring from East Tennessee State following the fall semester.

The field will play 36 holes over the first two rounds on Friday and 18 holes in the final round on Saturday with shotgun starts each day at 10:15 a.m. ET. The front nine will be played on the Coyote Run course at Boulder Creek Golf Club while the back nine will take place on the Desert Hawk course.

The course will play approximately 7,402 yards and par is 72. Live scoring for the event will be available at and via the Golfstat app.
