The Youngstown State men's golf team will conclude its fall schedule with the Titans Motown Collegiate hosted by Detroit Mercy at Prestwick Village Golf Club in Highland, Mich. on Monday and Tuesday.

The Penguins had their best finish of the 2017-18 season at this event last October, finishing second as a team and with three golfers in the top 10. This will be the team's third 54-hole event in 16 days and will mark the fifth different state in which it has competed since the season began in early September.

The tournament field will feature nine other teams including Canisius, Chicago State, Detroit Mercy, Ferris State, Grand Valley, Green Bay, Loyola (Ill.), Robert Morris and Valparaiso. The Penguins will be paired with Detroit Mercy and Robert Morris.

Detroit Mercy will have three golfers playing as individuals, Valparaiso will have two, and Canisius, Green Bay, Loyola, Robert Morris, and YSU will each have one.

Head Coach Tony Joy has announced that the YSU lineup will include Kevin Scherr, Ken Keller, C.J. Hughes, Bryan Kordupel and Brian Terlesky while Justin Stark will compete as an individual.

Scherr, Keller, Hughes and Kordupel have participated in each of the team's first five events this fall. Terlesky will be making his second appearance in the team lineup and playing in his third event overall. Stark will be participating in his fourth event of the fall and playing as an individual for the second time.

Scherr is coming off a career-best, fourth-place finish at Cleveland State's Tom Tontimonia Invitational last week. He placed seventh at last season's Titans Motown Collegiate while Hughes and Jason McQuown each earned career-best finishes, placing third and eighth respectively.

The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday with shotgun starts scheduled for 9 a.m. each day. The course at Prestwick Village Golf Club will play approximately 7,042 yards and par is 72. Live scoring will be available via and the BirdieFire mobile app.

Robert Morris is the defending champion after winning last year's event with a three-round 888. The Colonials also took medalist honors as David Szymanski finished first with a 216. The Penguins posted a season-best, 54-hole mark of 893 to finish second behind RMU.
