Men's Golf to Begin Season Sunday with Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate

The Youngstown State men's golf team will open its 2018-19 season on Sunday with the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate hosted by Missouri at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, N.Y.

The event will feature 17 other schools including Missouri, Bethune-Cookman, Binghamton, Boston College, Cleveland State, Delaware, Detroit Mercy, Mount St. Mary's, Niagara, Northern Kentucky, North Dakota State, Ottawa, Sacred Heart, Stetson, Valparaiso, Villanova and Wright State. The Penguins will be paired with Binghamton and Valparaiso.

The YSU lineup will include senior Jason McQuown, sophomores C.J. Hughes, Ken Keller and Kevin Scherr and freshman Brian Terlesky. In addition, freshman Bryan Kordupel will be competing as an individual. McQuown, Hughes, Keller and Scherr each played in the same event last season while Terlesky and Kordupel will be making their collegiate debuts.

The Kaluhyat Course at Turning Stone will play 6,882 yards and par is 72. The teams will play 36 holes on Sunday and 18 on Monday with shotgun starts set for 8 a.m. each day. Live scoring will be available via BirdieFire.com and the BirdieFire app.
