The Youngstown State men's golf team will have various players competing in summer tournaments over the next few weeks.

C.J. Hughes and Zack Ford each began play in the Western Pennsylvania Amateur at the famed Oakmont Country Club just outside of Pittsburgh on July 1-2. Beginning on July 9, Ken Keller and Derek Miller will each play in the Ohio Amateur Championship at Moraine Country Club in Dayton, Ohio.

Kevin Scherr will attempt to qualify to return to the U.S. Amateur Championship on July 8-9 in Columbia, Md. Last summer, he posted rounds of 71 and 73 at the Country Club at Woodmore to qualify for the 2018 U.S. Amateur Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links in California. Scherr was one of 312 golfers to qualify for the prestigious event out of 7,463 qualifying entries.

As the summer continues, members of the team will be competing in various other state and national events. For updates throughout the summer, follow @YSUMensGolf on Twitter.
