Chancerel, Kabli Pick Up Victories in Home-Opening Dual

Boardman - Youngstown State senior Dawoud Kabli and freshman Remi Chancerel picked up singles wins for the men's tennis team against Duquesne on Friday night. The Penguins lost the match to the Dukes 5-2 at the Boardman Tennis Center.

Kabli defeated Adam Blasinsky by a 6-2, 7-5 margin at No. 4 singles while Chancerel picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win over Rich Robbie at No. 1 singles. 

After Andrew Ong cliched the match with a win at No. 6 singles for the Dukes (2-0) YSU's Youssef Sherif dropped a hard-fought 6-2, 3-6, 12-10 decision in the final match of the dual at No. 5.

YSU (0-2) returns to action at IPFW on Saturday, Jan. 31.
