Penguins Drop Dual Match at IPFW

Fort Wayne, Ind. - The Youngstown State men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 contest at IPFW on Saturday at the Empowered Sports Club.

YSU dropped two of the six singles matches in three sets as Remi Chancerel and Hugo Morth both dropped three-set contests after battling back to force a third set.

At No 1, Chancerel dropped his first set 6-4 to Gerarg Duell before winning the second set 6-3. However, Chancerel lost the decisive third set 6-3. At No. 2, Hugo Morth lost his first set 7-5 to Daniel Cardenas before winning set two 7-5. The third set was won by Cardenas by an 11-9 score.

IPFW improves to 3-2 on the season while YSU is now 0-3.

The Penguins return to dual play on Feb. 6 when they play host to Saint Francis (Pa.) at the Boardman Tennis Center.
