YSU Remains Unbeaten With 6-1 Win Over Saint Francis (Pa.)

Boardman - The Youngstown State men's tennis team remained unbeaten in dual play with a 6-1 win over Saint Francis (Pa.) on Saturday at the Boardman Tennis Center.

The Penguins (4-0) earned the doubles point before winning five of six singles matches in the contest against the Red Flash (3-2).

In doubles, YSU won at No. 1 and No. 2 while the Red Flash won at No. 3. YSU's duo of Mitch Maroscher and Thomas Rodrigues won at No. 1 by a 6-3 score. At No. 2, Matthew Kritzinger and Joao Garreto earned the point with a 7-6 victory.

In singles, Maroscher picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1 to remain unbeaten in dual play. At No. 3, Rodrigues won 6-1, 6-2. At No. 4, Garreto cruised to a 6-0, 6-3 victory. In action at No. 5, Gabriel Tolesani was victorious by a score of 6-1, 6-2. In a good match at No. 6, Luke Purser won 4-6, 6-2, 10-4.

YSU is next in action on Friday when it takes on Weber State in Las Vegas.
