Dahan Picks Up Singles Win As Penguins Fall to Cleveland State

Cleveland, Ohio - The Youngstown State men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Cleveland State on Saturday afternoon at the Medical Mutual Pavilion in Cleveland.

Yossi Dahan earned a 6-1, 6-3 victory for the Penguins who drop to 7-9 overall and 1-1 in the Horizon League. Cleveland State improves to 11-8 and 2-0.

At No. 5 singles, Dahan picked up a straight-set win over CSU's Gabriel Evtimov for the lone YSU win.

The Guins hung tough at No. 2 and No. 6 singles losing three-set bouts. At No. 2, Joao Garretto lost 7-6, 1-6, 10-3 and at No. 6, Luke Purser fell 2-6, 7-6, 10-3. The Vikings won in straight sets at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4.

In doubles play, YSU had a 4-3 lead at No. 1 before CSU earned the victory.

The Penguins are next in action on Sunday, April 8 when they visit Detroit Mercy.
