The Youngstown State men's tennis team takes on defending Horizon League Champion Cleveland State on Saturday at the Western Reserve Racquet Club in Streetsboro. First serve is set for 1 p.m.

The Penguins (8-6 overall, 1-0 Horizon League) and Vikings (11-7 and 1-0) both opened conference play last weekend with wins in Green Bay. The Guins beat the Phoenix 5-2 on Saturday before CSU picked up a 7-0 win over GB on Sunday.

In singles play against Green Bay, Danylo Veremeichuk (No. 1), Vasilis Vardakis (No. 2), Joao Garretto (No. 3) and Erik Gran (No. 4) all earned victories after YSU won the doubles point.

This spring, Luke Purser, Gran and Veremeichuk lead the team with seven singles wins each while Garretto and Yossi Dahan have each won six contests. Vardakis has won five mathes as well.

YSU dropped a pair of matches to Cleveland State last season. The Penguins lost 6-1 in Cleveland and lost 4-0 in the Horizon League semifinals.
