Youngstown State senior Danylo Veremeichuk was named to the Horizon League's Men's Tennis All-Academic team, the league announced on Tuesday.
It marks the second straight year that Veremeichuk has been named academic All-Horizon League. He joins Silviu Mistreanu as the only Penguins to be named academic all-league on mulitple occasions.
In 2018-19, Veremeichuk has posted a 21-11 overall record while going 11-7 in dual matches and posted an impressive 5-1 record at No. 1 singles in Horizon League play. The Penguins finished Horizon League play with a 5-1 record and will be the No. 2 seed at the Horizon League Championships.
In his career, he owns a 56-26 record in singles and is 51-24 in his doubles career. He won a career-high 22 matches last season and has followed that with 21 victories in 2018-19. Last season in doubles he won 21 times and this year he has 20 victories.
YSU will face either UIC or Northern Kentucky in the Horizon League semifinals on Saturday, April 27 at 11 a.m. in West Lafayette, Ind., at Purdue University's Schwartz Tennis Center.
